For over 35 years, YES has offered a special program during the Holidays. Hundreds of low-income families will have the opportunity to shop for their children. Each mother will select a complete outfit and new toys for each child in their family. They will receive a $20 Wal-Mart gift card and a large box of groceries for a complete holiday meal. This is an enormous task, so we rely on help from hundreds of volunteers to make it a reality each year.
We need your help in a variety of ways:
- You can sponsor a child by taking “Angel Cards” which provide specific, age and gender appropriate requests for YES children.
- Churches, businesses, and schools can sponsor drives to help in our efforts. Why not host a toy, clothing or food drive! And we always need a big supply of underwear, socks, pajamas and hats & mittens.
- Volunteers are needed the week before and on the day of the store to help set-up, work and clean-up. To volunteer for this event, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Also, cash donations are always welcome! This money will help us purchase hams for the holiday meals and any items that we are low on to fully supply the store.
As you consider your benevolent giving this Christmas, please keep Youth Encouragement Services at the top of your list. You can help us make this holiday season brighter for Nashville’s underprivileged children. Thank you in advance for your help!
