Dave Barnum

About Dave Barnam:

Dave is overjoyed to join the team at YES as the Mission Engagement Director!  With over 40 years of ministry work with people of all ages, Dave’s youth is being renewed every day as he engages the youngsters at the YES program.  Since his miraculous conversion to Christ at the age of 18, Dave has had one mission and passion - to see people, young and old transformed into the image of Christ. During his years at Bible College, Dave met his future wife, Jamie and they have shared in the ministry these last 37 years together.

Being a citizen of the United States and Canada and having opportunities to travel to many nations, the one constant that Dave has observed is that young people are similar the world round. We are created in the image of God, with a beauty and potential that if developed can bring about astonishing results. It’s with this perspective that Dave, on a daily basis endeavors to draw out the miraculous, Divine imprint that is on all of our lives.

Dave approaches service in this beautiful and historic culture at YES with an energized passion from above every single day. Dave’s ‘roll up your sleeves’ philosophy, along with his lifelong learning mindset through the books he reads, the people that he meets and the places that he goes has allowed him to meet the daily and dynamic challenges unique to South Nashville’s YES community. He thoroughly enjoys serving along with the gifted staff and supporting partners. Dave is looking forward to developing a broader volunteer/mentor base that is just as impassioned as those that serve full time with our children. He is also excited about sharing the storied history and present vision of YES within Nashville and regions beyond.

Finally, Dave’s love for Christ, people, sports, games, travel, education and squeezing as much fun out of life every single day is who he is. YES is such a beautiful gift for Dave’s life because this ministry allows him to be all of that and more. Thank you YES, and thank you to all of our supporters.
