About Izzy Perkinson:

Meet Izzy Perkinson. As Student Success Manager, Izzy spends her time passionately working to enhance our academic enrichment activities at both centers. As spoken by the great leader Nelson Mandela, Izzy believes that “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” She combines her passion for outdoor exploration, animals, reading and science with her experiences growing up on a farm in Virginia to shape her dynamic literacy based STEM lessons. Izzy is an alumna of James Madison University (Go Dukes!) where she earned her degree in Elementary Education. When not at work jumping off tables to explain gravity, launching catapults with students, organizing trips to the zoo or convincing the YES team to go skydiving with her, you can find Izzy cooking up creative meals in the kitchen or off on an adventure with her husband Seth and their beloved dog, Elko.
